We stayed 5 nights. We found it a magical place to stay. It does have lots of steps and the walk to Positano is a bit hairy because of the traffic but despite that we would come back tomorrow to stay. Stunning views from our window and the fabulous terrace(s). Although not in Positano, it's great for walkers because it is very close to the sensational Sentieri degli dei (Walk of the Gods) and other great restaurants and vistas above it (eg Nocelle, Tratoria Santa Croce, Donna Rosa at Montepertuso). The distance from Positano also makes it an incredibly peaceful and relaxing spot. Fantastic service from Davide (who speaks good english) and Anna (who gave us bowls of her glorious tomatoes and herbs, as well as preparing the fabulous breakfast components - preserved figs, jams, croissants, cakes, pancakes, bruschetta plus gorgeous fresh fruits). The breakfast was truly stunning and by far the best we encountered in Italy. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Hard to imagine how anything could be better; a memorable stay in a truly charming place.

My family of 8 spent 5 glorious days here this week! Yes the steps were hard work for my 69 year old parents and 71 year old Aunty, but they loved it nevertheless! At least we were able to enjoy the AMAZING food without guilt. Every tiny detail was perfect! We have stayed at many wonderful places in Italy over the past 5 weeks, but none compared to this. We arrived to delicious cool drinks and a warm welcome from the professional and kind Davide, Anna, Octavia and Simone. Our rooms contained lovely comfortable beds, perfectly laundered linen, beautifully maintained appliances and furniture and tasteful decorations. This was nothing compared to the magnificent view! The 'mini bar' contained wine, soft drink, juice, the best Limoncello in Italy (homemade), olive oil produced on the property, delicious biscuits and water. All very reasonably priced. The homemade pastries, cakes, jams, honey and bruschetta supplied for breakfast, often filled us until the evening! The warmth and helpfulness of Davide, Anna and family was second to none! From spoiling our children, booking tours and giving helpful advice to cleaning our rooms daily and making us feel like family made us never want to leave! At the bottom of the steps was the bus stop and a short walk would take you to Positano Central. The ferry in Positano could take you to Naples, the Isle of Capri or Amalfi. Perfect Location. Again the view...simply stunning! And back to the family! All communication prior to traveling, made our arrival easy and our large family group feel confident. Their assistance was invaluable. The garden is wonderful, right down to the pet minature pig and the pomegranates. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You will love it.

Just back from a week relaxing here - it really is a lovely place, we stayed in the Poseidone apartment which was very spacious and well equipped kitchen (two induction hobs + pots, pans etc). Good clean bathroom with great powerful shower. Own private veranda with table/chairs - great for evening meals whislt watching sunset with wine and limoncello. As with everywhere on this coast - it's steep with lots of steps. Rifugio degli Dei is actually about 350 steps up from coast road though I never found it a problem - just dont forget anything!. It's about 30 min walk into Positano centre. V nice breakfast arranged every morning on terrace. We hired a car (recommend something small as parking can be a problem everywhere and roads are v narrow). Always managed to park near steps for free. Thoroughly recommended.

Just to make clear We did not stay at the Rifugio deglie Dei, but an apartment owned by the same owners further down the steps. I emailed them a month before our departure to confirm we would pay to have a transfer from naples as we were travelling on my partners birthday so wanted to make the trip as hassle free as possible, to which i got an email back saying they didnt have a reservation, quiet upset i then fowarded on all the email conversation we had been having ref the booking ofer the previous 9 months. Needless to say they couldnt acomodate us but they offered to put us up in a self catering apartment further down towards the road which we accepted as we had no choice. The apartment was addacuate and basic however the view was stunning, Id say better then being up at the main farmhouse as its not blocked by foliage so much. We had some free time one day so decided to take a walk up the steps to the main farmhouse and the apartments (the steps do go on, even as a fit mid 20's couple i dont think we would have wanted to do them several times a day like we had the steps to our apartment, we certainly would have rethought how much back and forwards we would have done to our apartment). All i can say is when we did venture further up to the main Rifudio deli dei i nearly broke down in tears, its that stunning and beutifull and even despite everything I want to go back just so i can actually stay there. The abundance of produce growing all around and the little terraces of garden just make it a picture postcard. I was so upset that they had lost our booking i really was but at least i got to see it.

I gradini?

This was my first trip to the Amalfi Coast and I was not disappointed. Rifugio degli Dei was wonderful. The workout to make it up the 240 steps to the B & B was challenging, but worth the effort. The rooms were excellent, the homemade breakfasts delicious, and the hosts were superb - warm, friendly and helpful. Truly paradise.

Stanza pulitissima! Consigliato a tutti tranne ai pigri!

“Italian family hospitality at its best”

We cannot find anything bad to say about this place. It was our little slice of heaven for 10 days in June. We were excitedly greeted by this wonderful family down on the street - the 2 boys took our luggage to the luggage lift (thank goodness we didn't have to carry it up the stairs!), and the dad parked our car for us on the scarily narrow streets. All we had to do was walk up the stairs and be greeted with a smile from Anna and a nice glass of cold water. The view is simply breathtaking. Rifugio degli Dei is about 2 kms from the "heart" of Positano with fantastic bus connections or you can walk along the road no problems (we did this often). Then up the 415 steps to your apartment and the view of the ocean, the islands, the town of Positano and the coastal road winding its way along the cliff edge - wow what a view. The apartments were spotlessly clean, SO spacious and filled with homemade olive oil, homemade Limoncello, homemade Blueberry liquer, honey from their own bees etc etc. Each morning we went down to breakfast and were greeted with the best Bruschetta I've ever tasted, home baked cakes thanks to Anna (think apple and walnut, pineaple/raspberry/coconut, lemon cake......my mouth is watering already), fresh orange juice, very, very tasy espresso (as confirmed by my husband - a Barista himself), breads, fresh fruit, croissants...mmmmm. Each day there is a basket of fruit and vegetables left out on the terrace that you can use to cook in your apartment if you wish. You can also help yourself to the herb garden. Everything tastes better fresh. We were travelling with our 4.5 month old son and Anna was just wonderful to us - each morning she would hold our boy and give him cuddles whilst we ate our breakfast. If she heard him being whingey she would invite him to look at Julietta and Toto - the pig and piglet. That's when we discovered that not only did this wonderful place have olive trees, fig trees, pumpkins, tomatoes, herbs, lemon trees, orange trees etc etc - but also 10-12 rabbits, 2 pigs, 5 goats and a turkey. If you don't feel like going into town for the day, you can just relax at the Country House - each apartment has it's own private terrace with amazing views of Positano. Take a beer/juice/wine/water from the stocked fridge (at very reasonable/shop prices) and enjoy the view. The best value-for-money I have found during my extensive travels. Highly recommended!

“Nice family run accomodation”

We stayed here on the 2nd part of our honeymoon . The apartment was very clean , with all the kitchen stuff provided . Breakfast was exellent , homemade cakes , jams and friut from the farm, also really good espresso. David was very helpful and friendly .Not really suitable for anyone who has trouble with alot of steps (300 to get from the main road to the farm house ).

“Make sure this suits you.”

If you are considering this property, make sure you read all of the reviews and know exactly what to expect. The family are totally charming and are excellent hosts. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The views endless and stunning. BUT... Understand you have to either walk or get the local bus out of town, and then walk up over 400 stairs to your door after a wonderful day out - a bit of a dampener I personally found. My husband however did not have a problem with this. You only want to do this, at most, once a day. We set off in the mornings with a change of clothes for dinner. An awesome breakfast is provided but there is no other food available anywhere nearby. You have a kitchenette in your apartment, so if cooking in and enjoying the tranquility of a mountainside escape is your thing, perfect!
